Sunday Pay Uplifts

Sunday pay uplifts can be applied to costs to ensure rota cost estimates are more accurate.

Written by Estera

To support different pay arrangements, Sunday uplifts can be configured as either a fixed amount or a percentage of employee's hourly rate.

The uplift is automatically included in future wage calculations, making it easier to track labour costs and forecast staffing spend with confidence.

To turn on:

  1. Go to "Hello <First Name>" and then to Settings

  2. Navigate to Rota Settings

  3. Locate Apply Sunday pay uplift to costs

  4. Toggle the feature ON

5. Decide if the uplift is in a form of percentage or value

For value ensure the button is set to "123"

For percentage ensure the button is set to "%"

6. Input the value or percentage number.

How Are Sunday Uplifts Calculated

  • The system detects the placement of a shift on a Sunday.

  • It applies the defined uplift to the employee’s base rate.

  • Adjusted pay is automatically included in wage cost estimates.

For example:

Fixed Value Uplift:

  • Base pay: €10/hour

  • Sunday uplift: +€2/hour

  • Final base pay: €12/hour base cost for that shift

Percentage Uplift:

  • Base pay: €10/hour

  • Sunday uplift: +25%

  • Final base pay: €12.50/hour base cost for that shift
