Recommended Device Standards
To ensure reliable operation of the application and continued access to new features, we recommend that all customer devices meet the following standards.
Recommended Manufacturers
Where possible, devices should be sourced from manufacturers with a strong track record of providing medium - long term operating system and security updates, including:
Samsung
Google
Apple
Devices from manufacturers with limited software support lifecycles become increasingly susceptible to compatibility, performance, and security issues and may require earlier replacement.
Operating System Requirements
Devices should:
Run a currently supported Android or IOS version.
Receive regular manufacturer security updates.
Be kept up to date with all available operating system updates.
Device Refresh Guidance
As the application continues to evolve, clients should maintain a planned device refresh programme.
As employee clock-in and clock-out activities are part of a critical business process, we recommend:
Reviewing device suitability annually.
Replacing devices that no longer receive manufacturer security updates.
Planning hardware refreshes typically within a 3–5 year lifecycle, depending on manufacturer support, device performance, and operational requirements.
Camera Orientation
For best results the front facing camera should be on the short side of the tablet (i.e. in Portrait mode).
